Forthcoming book: Against the Nation

11.02.2013

In a few weeks time New Compass Press will release a new book entitled Against the Nation: Anti-National Politics in Germany. The book is written by Robert Ogman and will be available in both printed and electronic form.

Here's a description of the book:

Responding to the nationalist resurgence accompanying “German reunification” in 1989/1990, a new social movement emerged which not only opposed nationalism, but fundamentally rejected the nation and nation-state. Against the Nation: Anti-National Politics in Germany reveals the movement's origins in struggles against neofascism, anti-immigrant violence, restrictive border and migration policies, and the increased power of “unified” Germany on the international stage. The book shows how the anti-national movement sought to develop new strategies and ideas for reorganizing society according to “something better than the nation.”
