The ISE's Winter Intensive Announced

19.10.2012

The Institute for Social Ecology in Vermont, USA, has just announced their forthcoming event. The 2013 Winter Intensive will run from January 7th to the 14th at the Northampton Friends Meetinghouse in Northampton, Massachusetts.

Tuition: $250 for the whole Intensive or $30 a class. Scholarships are available upon request, and an application is required.

The Institute for Social Ecology has been offering educational programs on radical social transformation for over 30 years. Our mission is to empower students with theoretical analysis, historical knowledge, and tools to articulate their own visions of a society free from oppression and ecological degradation. Given the obstacles and uncertainties of ongoing movements, this winter’s Intensive challenges students to ask how can we continue moving toward a fundamental social change? In addition to the philosophy and politics of social ecology, we will incorporate themes such as:

— Knowledge & Power

— Long-Term Organizing Strategies

— Solidarity & Accountability

— Climate Justice & Food Security/Food Sovereignty
