September 25-27 the conference Ecological Challenges will be arranged in Oslo, Norway. Activists from a wide array of ecological movements and academics from diverse disciplines such as the social sciences, the humanities and the natural sciences, will meet to exchange views on how to deal with the social and ecological challenges we are facing.
Some of the central questions of our conference are:
• What is the role of democracy and participation in solving environmental problems?
• What problems does urbanization create and how do we make our cities green?
• What are the potential and pitfalls of the new interest in “degrowth” and common resource management?
• How can we develop a broad, radical ecology movement?
